Common Questions | Print |

1. Will I put on weight if I give up?

No. The MSS technique does not merely replace one craving with another. It removes the cigarette craving.

2. Will I feel ill afterwards?

No - particularly if you drink plenty of water to flush the toxins from your body.

3. Will I feel any different afterwards?

  • The most common feeling is of surprise that it was so painless!
  • A sense of 'unfamiliarity' with not seeking an instant 'rewarding' smoke afterwards, is common too.
  • A great sense of relief is common.
  • During the 24 hours after treatment the blood gases will revert to a more normal level, as carbon monoxide is blown off and replaced by oxygen.
  • There may be a process of coughing up phlegm in the first couple of days as the lungs' cleaning mechanisms (previously paralysed by cigarettes) begin to work again, opening up access to much previously-denied gas exchange area. The extra oxygen is then available to help fuel the body.
  • Over the next few days, weeks and months, skin will recover its colour and texture.
  • People will gain a new, more energetic, lifestyle.
